I have made a deliberate decision not to work directly with insurance companies.
This approach allows me to adapt my therapeutic approach to best serve you without the constraints imposed by insurance policies, such as mandated diagnosis codes or predetermined session lengths.
This approach also ensures greater privacy and confidentiality as most insurance companies require documentation from therapy sessions to justify continued care.
Out-of-network benefits refer to the coverage provided by an insurance plan for services rendered by a healthcare provider who is not within the insurance company's network. In simpler terms, if you choose to work with a therapist who is not in your insurance network, you may still be eligible for partial reimbursement for your sessions through out-of-network benefits. Not all insurance plans have out of network benefits, you will need to confirm this with your insurance company for your individual plan.
A superbill is an itemized statement or invoice that contains the necessary information for you to seek reimbursement from your insurance company for services received. When you pay for therapy sessions out-of-pocket, I can provide you with a superbill that includes details such as the date of service, diagnosis code (if applicable), session duration, and fees charged. You can then submit this document to your insurance company to claim reimbursement as per your out-of-network benefits.
