I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors; as well as exploring possible core beliefs. Core beliefs are shame based beliefs we all carry, typically from childhood; they Impact how we view ourselves and the world and ultimately how we treat ourselves. I work with clients on uncovering these often unconscious processes to heal the hurt and painful parts of themselves.
I love attachment theory and have found it to be very effective in my practice. Attachment therapy focuses on developing an understanding of how the relationships we have in childhood and the wounds we sustain continue to affect us negatively in adulthood. There is also deep healing that occurs within the relationship between myself and my clients.
I deeply enjoy working with clients who are wondering or struggling with the meaning of life and existence. There are many ways I work with folks on exploring these bigger life questions and find comfort and peace in their lives. This pairs well with the integration work I do.
